Service
As a practicing graphic designer, I often do design work for community partners. These clients and collaborators are also a big part of my teachings in the classroom as I discuss clients, production, and real-life design.
I have done substantial amounts of service while at RIT, as I have served on campus-wide committees (Future of Faculty Ad-Hoc), done work for the College of Art and Design by helping with fundraising materials (in collaboration with Associate Deans Christine Shank and Chris Jackson) and participated in initiatives of Dean Todd Jokl such as a2ru, and numerous events and plans for the Graphic Design program. I have done many events, such as attending open house events, hosting College and Careers for multiple years, helped organize Design Week, and working actively on recruitment and retention, helping to update the graphic design program.
My service to RIT has been in the forms of various university/college/school/program committees, and I also run and manage approximately 16 students in Command+g Design Lab. Our Design Lab does graphic design work for clients on and off campus, and we do everything from logos and branding to websites and motion graphics.
