Grant Application
Applied for Advance grant (denied) with Professor Lorrie Frear. Our proposal was to develop on online resource/teaching tool on Typography. At least 24 classes at RIT mention Typography in their course descriptions. As we are trained in type, we proposed making this an open resource to other faculty, so they could have information and resources supplied by experienced typographers. This idea is still in discussion.

Poster and Zoom presentation at UCDA Design Educators Summit (blind peer-reviewed)
https://www.ucda.com/events/63/
Accepted and presented to UCDA conference with Professor Lorrie Frear and Program Director/Associate Professor Carol Fillip. The theme of the conference was “Re-”. “ The conference was themed: “Re-” is a prefix meaning again, anew, back, or backward. It allows us to frame ideas and activities with a new lens: revise, replay, repeat, refresh, return, review, rebound, retreat, reverse, rearrange, recycle, reiterate, and reassess. Over the past twelve months, those in the design education community have had to “re[noun/verb]” their course content, teaching methods, classroom practices, and means of student participation and inclusion.” The UCDA Design Education Summit: “Re-” focused on how design educators have applied this prefix to their courses, their students, their projects, their research, and their personal practice. We designed a poster and did a presentation, focused on Command+g Design Lab and the work that the three of us oversaw and student participation during the spring semester.

NCHDV is planned by Futures Without Violence Health Program staff, and a multidisciplinary Steering Committee made of leaders from across the fields of health and anti-violence.” This poster was based on a smartphone application we are working on to help people in abusive relationships recognize and understand their relationships and what to do to improve their situation.
