Embark Incubator for BaseCampus application

Inducted into first cohort of the Embark Low-Tech Incubator program through NextCorp (with Research Assistant Professor Nicole Trabold, Wegmans School of Health and Nutrition, (College of Health Sciences and Technology). Our project idea, a smartphone app for college students to learn about and cope with stress through curated content called BaseCampus, allowed us to advance to the second and final round. Embark helps non-technical founders go from idea to revenue. We are currently in the development of a prototype for a minimum viable product. We were awarded $7000 to go toward the development of the app.

Received CAD/COLA Grant Writers Boot Camp seed funding grant ($4724.00). Working on an XR collaborative workspace with Philip Szrama (Lecturer 3DDD).

NIH Grant Proposal

Helped contribute to an NIH grant proposal with Dr. Jill Lavigne (Professor St. John Fisher University) and to serve as the creative design leader and web design consultant to Dr Jill Lavigne’s proposal, “Means Restriction Training for Suicide Prevention in the Rural Research Alliance of Community Pharmacies Practice-Based Research Network (PBRN).”

Discussed with Dr. Jill Lavigne the possibility of an application to better identify patients with insomnia and the best medication options for them in VA national medical records.

Member of Editorial Board/a2ru

Invited by Yvonne Huoy (University of Nevada Las Vegas) to be part of the editorial board for the a2ru publication, Tradition Innovations. This new peer-reviewed open access eJournal—collaboratively brought to life by the international Alliance for the Arts Research Universities (a2ru) network, and a2ru member UNLV—provides a multimedia forum to address this and connected questions by exploring how creative work, teaching/mentoring, and knowledge creation/research are linked and in conversation with one another.

Book Submission

Final submission for book, Creative Resilience, for double-blind review. Have made it through two rounds of reviews to date. This is a book project of Kelly M. Murdoch-Kitt (University of Michigan) and Dr. Denielle J. Emans (Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar). Creative Resilience will be a published collection of edited case studies, project ideas, exercises, short essays, and visual narratives. The editors will weave together accepted contributions with their own analysis and discussion.
